The thought of his heart out on the line made Sidney think about all the exceptional times they spent mutually. One moment stuck in her head, their first date.

“So this is the real Shaun Whitmore, huh?” Sidney wittily grinned as they he stood supporting her from the wind; they stood at her side of his car after going to see a movie.

“…Well that depends… what do you think of this ‘Shaun Whitmore’, miss Sidney Andrews?” Shaun asserted his question right back to her.

Sidney laughed and gazed up at his mysterious eyes and his masculine figure, she touched his chest softly and teasing quietly “Well… you will find out.” and twisted away from him to open her door.

“Oh… Not so fast Ms. Andrews…” Shaun chuckled shutting the car door, and turned her back around. He pulled her in close and lifted her chin and massaged her glossy lips with his. They broke away, she slowly opened her eyes to see a fait smile across his face. Then he said assure of himself, “Now, how was that for finding out?”

She smirked as she shrugged “eh, it was alright…” and turned to open the door again. She saw his smile wipe off his face and she turned back around to confront him and clenched his collar and drug him back down to her lips and they kissed, it seemed like eternity, but it was only a couple minutes. That’s when they knew that they would be together for a lengthy time.

“Wait, I’ll see you tomorrow, right?” He said with a minuscule glimpse of optimism in his parched throat.
“Shaun, don’t start this again, I’ll try… but I leave tomorrow morning. I’ll be back to visit in the summers though, because my family still lives here, and well they can’t keep me from you.” Sidney whispered as she rested on his chest, cradling his hand.

They sat in the stillness of Shaun’s basement for a couple minutes, realizing what they were giving up. They both knew that what they had could never last the miles that they would be apart. Synchronized tear drops fell from their eyes, but still they said nothing.

After a couple minutes Sidney turned up her head to look him in the eyes. She smiled a tender smile, and kissed his chest.

“But hey, we will only be a couple thousand miles away right? Not any vast problem.” She hid the awkwardness in her voice with a faint giggle.

Shaun smiled a diminutive courtesy smile and then lifted her chin up and planted a gentle kiss on her rose pedaled lips. They sat there, together, feeling the heat of passion run through their spines, knowing this would be the last time together. Their lips parted and she whispered sweet vows in his ear, and then their lips met again. In the middle of a delicate kiss, Shaun drove Sidney away from him, stammers off the couch onto his feet in utter rage.

“I hate you, you know that, right! …Ok no. I don’t hate you, I despise your parents… for doing this to us! How could they?” Shaun shrieked as his eyes turned red with fury, they became swollen and began to flood with tears.

Sidney had no idea what to do, should she leave, should she stay, was this closure? She sat there wishing to embrace him, yearning to declare him of their relationship lasting eternally, but how could she do that? …she doubted the entire relationship herself!

Shaun collapsed to his knees, he then crawled over to her, took her by the waist and heaved her to him. He dropped his head into her lap, still enfolding her, so taut, as if to maintain her from floating away. He sobbed, tears coursed down his inflamed eyes to his tomato red cheeks.

Sidney could think of nothing but the first time she had seen him. How she thought a guy of that powerful stature would never let a tear escape his deep set, brown eyes. She thought it was beautiful the way he engulfed her, and let her feel the true Shaun, she saw what she had never seen before, his sincere emotions getting the best of him.

She came back to reality when she heard the clock strike eleven o’clock. Shaun was still their holding her, silently weeping. She drew him close, wiped away the tears from her eyes and his, and kissed him tenderly.

“Shaun, you need to take me home, I need to wake very early in the morning, hunny can you take drive like this?” She questioned sympathetically.

He nodded and kissed her again. They both fell to the couch and they drew each other closer than ever before. They held onto each other as if they were being torn apart, he kissed her mouth and then trailing down to her collar bone. Each breath was coated with an “I love you.” Sidney panted so hard trying to keep back her fright of leaving him, she swallowed back every tear she sensed arising in her throat. He trailed down her shirt, kissing every ounce of skin she had.

Their heartbeats synchronized, they played there, experiencing new beginnings, but for the thought of an unfortunate ending. As they got carried away, she realized she needed to be home, she kissed his body one last time and told him they needed to go. As their bodies cried for more attention, they said their Farwell’s in the car and she walked into her house.

The next morning she awoke to one pink rose, her favorite, and a letter that said

I’ve spent one perfect beginning with you, and I wont let this be the ending, I will love you forever Ms. Andrews, come back to me.
Love eternally,
Mr. Whitmore
Sidney shed one last tear for her beloved Shaun, and packed the rest into the car. Driving past his house she whispered a silent “I’ll never forget you.” they house fled out of site.
